I have a computer running windows xp. Computer name is "tech_lab01-03". we cannot change computer names in our network as all others communicate with them using there names. yesterday i formatted that pc and installed windows server 2003. after that i gave the computer name and tried to connect it to the company domain. it failed. i tried several times but nothing changed. same error repeated. error was "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship."

This is the first time i faced to this issue. i never saw this error before. what should i do now? i need to connect that pc with the old name to the existing domain. help me...

I can understand your question. I think you need to reset you computer account from the active directory users and computers console. after that try reconnecting to the domain. if not then delete your computer account from active directory users and computers window. definitely it should work if your IP and DNS settings are correct.
